Hello ladies and gents, Mrs. Nuñez here, Hoping to spread a little Seuss-errific cheer! Let's have fun celebrating Dr. Seuss!
What's your favorite Dr. Seuss book? Why? Please sign up for a Parent Teacher Conference this coming week to secure your desired time. Conferences will be confirmed via email. This week, we celebrate two of our nation's presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. What do you already know about these men? What have you learned about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln? What did they accomplish when they were presidents? How are they best remembered?
The President of the United States has many important roles. Click on the buttons below to learn fun facts about our nation's leaders or try your hat at the 7 Hat Challenge below! Can you identify the 7 different "hats" that the President must wear? Dear Families, This coming week will be full of fun and excitement! On Thursday, February 12th, we will culminate our Arctic and Antarctic Exploration with an EXTRAVAGANZA! Families, we would love for you to join us Thursday afternoon, too. (See the invitation above.) In honor of our penguin pals, please have your child wear an all black and white outfit, preferably without any logos. We would love for you to wear black and white, too! On Friday, February 13th, we will celebrate Friendship Day (also known as Valentine's Day)! Attached to this post is a list of each child's name in the class. I would love for everyone to participate! We will create mailboxes in class in preparation for the exchange. Due to the Snow Day, the 100th Day of School will now be Thursday, February 19th. AS A BONUS or EXTRA CREDIT project, create a wearable 100th day project with a collection of 100 things! Be creative! A special reward will be given to those who participate! If you need an idea, check out the photo below! And don't forget to wear it on the 100th Day! Let's have a fantastic week! Mrs. Nuñez
Your nonfiction feature posters are unbelievable! I was really impressed by your use of nonfiction text features and your creativity! Way to go! As your were sharing your posters, it was evident that you are experts on your animal based on the information you shared and the vocabulary you used. I will post photographs of your projects soon!
Looking forward to seeing the diorama on Wednesday! Have fun and be creative! WOW! I was incredibly impressed by the amazing informational expert books you submitted on Friday! I've been bragging about your unbelievable writing to everyone! You truly demonstrated your mastery of informational writing! I'm so proud! Thank you, families, for working with and supporting your children. As you know, you have two more elements of the project due soon.
Below is a checklist and rubric for your posters: Hello families and students! I hope you are enjoying your three-day weekend! As you are beginning your research, here are some websites that might help. Remember, if you need help, please ask! CARIBOU/REINDEER
As you are conducting your research, remember to take notes and organize your information IN YOUR OWN WORDS before you begin writing your informational expert book.
I hope you have enjoyed exploring our class website and used some of the resources in Homework Helper! As I announced in class on Friday, we are going to conduct independent research and complete projects about a polar animal that you are interested in learning more about in the month of January. Above is a picture of SOME polar animals, from the North and South Pole, but there are many more! Leave a comment, based on this question: What polar animal would you be interested in researching at home and in school? Why did you select this animal? What fascinates you about this animal? |
